Lammershoek dates back more than three centuries, linked to survival, or preservation of life in a previously harsh, untamed environment.
Built on the foundations and visions of local wine industry viticultural pioneers like Desiderius Pongrácz and Abraham Perold, Lammershoek is a cornerstone of the Swartland region’s remarkable wine quality and profile momentum in recent decades. This has been enriched by a wave of new generation wineries and personalities sharing the philosophy of non-interference with nature’s treasures.
As we are proud of this legacy but also want to create and evolve, finally our new Reserve Range – called the Renaissance of our Heritage – was launched.
It means we are cherishing what has been planted on our soil many years ago and we are taking the best out of these grapes to make extraordinary wines today.
This range brings out the best of what was put in the soil some decades ago: the minerality, fresh acidity and anything and everything Lammershoek stands for – decomposite granite soils, fynbos all around, respect for all beings – living close to nature.
We were blessed to be able to launch it at Harald’s famous Aubergine Restaurant. With his outstanding delicious food that truly nurtured also the soul, our extraordinary wines, combined with awesome guests and therefore more than pleasant conversations it was the perfect evening.
